Recently the FBC benevolence fund administered by the Diaconate has assisted needy members with payment of medical bills not covered by insurance, utility expenses, and perishable groceries not available through the church food pantry. Members who are able to assist by replenishing the balance of the benevolence fund are encouraged to place those offerings in Communion envelopes provided in the annual envelope boxes, or by designating an offering as a write-in on a pew envelope.

Members who need assistance are invited to make their requests known to our deacons. Other types of assistance provided in past years include taxi fare, prescription medications, eyeglasses and hearing aids, rent and other essential living expenses. The Diaconate can continue to assist needy church members to the extent that the balance in the benevolence fund permits.
